New statistics released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveal that not only is UK employment at an all time high (76.3%) but that there are more women employed now than ever before (72.3%). There are still more men working than women, with the estimated employment rate for men at 80.4%. But in the past year, this has only raised by 0.1%, compared to the 1.1 percentage point increase for women in work. There are two main reasons for this.
